Cuddle Bunny

This is a cuddle toy I made for my nephew when he was born. I also made one for a friend's baby. The hardest part is the head, which is knitted in a combination of pearls and slips to form a double layer which opens up. Sewing the eyes and mouth can also be difficult to get right. I don't sew plastic eyes on, because they can be a choking hazard.

Turtle Beanie

This is a beanie I made for my cousin at his request. It was my VERY FIRST attempt at crocheting and I taught myself, mostly from YouTube videos!

Where is the Green Sheep?

Mem Fox's brilliant little picture book 'Where is the Green Sheep?' was the inspiration for this set of sheep I knitted to go with the book for a present for a friend's baby. The sheep were frustrating, and it took a bit of trial and error before I was happy enough with them. They weren't perfect, but I was pleased with the result. They are great for little hands, with different textures in the wool, and of course different colours.

Skirt from Jeans

I found instructions about how to make a skirt from a pair of jeans online (sorry, I can't find them anymore). Basically, you cut the legs to the skirt length you want, unpick ALL the seams (in the top and bottom parts), and use the pieces from the legs to fill in the gaps between the seams at the top (if that makes sense).
I used a pair of jeans with paint on the bottoms, and voilĂ ! The key is to make sure the jeans fit well in the waist before you start cutting them up. The jeans I used were made of stretchy material, and that definitely helps the skirt to fit better.
